Providence Riverfront Area
I was in Providence, RI on a Sunday afternoon at the end of June for a street photography jaunt. In my previous post, showed photos from the older, more artsy area of the city and then over to the river. Today I'm sharing images from the riverfront area.
Onward!
Miles walked: 3.5

Watch your step!
You can see posts and cauldrons in the water. Those are for their Waterfire event that's held a few times throughout the summer. They light bonfires in the cauldrons and you can walk along the riverfront, or go for a gondola ride. The fires are quite beautiful.
Here's a link to the Waterfire website: https://waterfire.org
I like the tropical feel of the palm trees. I love palm trees, I think because they mean vacation to me since we don't have them in Connecticut.
Some info for the next two photos.
People properly leaving drinks. Improperly leaving shoes. ;)
This is my favorite image of the day. I feel like the light and shape looks like a kite with a tail. I shall call it Kite of Light.
Enjoyed the curve of the stairs and curve of the tile.
People (way in back - I waited for them to be in the middle, although I missed centering them by a second or so)! I saw very few people while exploring Providence. It was a hot Sunday afternoon. Providence reminded me a Hartford, not much going on nights and weekends. More of a daytime business district.
You can go for a gondola ride just like Venice. OK, maybe not quite as good as Venice unless you're there for Waterfire.
And that's my take on the riverfront area of Providence on a hot summer Sunday.
Until the next Magic Metro!
