It feels good to be back to just Mondays...especially since I'm going through the process of wrapping up this really amazing project. I thank all of you that have been coming along on this journey, maybe reading a post or two, or maybe reading all of them. It's been a process, and I know I can feel the support of those who have come along on the journey even if it's been from your computer or tablet.
So this visit was bumpy! It was kind of funny, everything was late and difficult as far as transportation. Metro North had a glitch in Stamford so all the trains were late. That worked awesome for me because I also ran late in the morning so I was able to catch the 10:17am train at around 10:25am because we were both late. Ha!
I had, yet another, train "coincidence". We shall talk about that later.
Onward.
So this is where I got thrown off the subway for the first time. The "1" was not at all going to take me to TriBeCa afterall. How nice. Where the heck was I? I had no idea. But I have my subway app and Google Map and 46 weeks of experience. Not a big deal.
Figuring out how to get to another subway to get me to TriBeCa, ran into Captain Kirk.
What I love is the advertisement for "The Casper Pillow" with the penguin above the people sleeping on the train. I don't know...it just seemed ironic. And I know certain friends get the penguin connection. xo
A lot going on here. I just stumbled upon this place. Might be worth another visit. Pretty fun.
I've arrived in TriBeCa, and Judgy Megan is going to say that I really don't like Jenga Apartment towering over this part of the city. Basically you can't take a pic in this area without it being present.
Very SoHo.
I like your sleeves...and back.
Oooh...and neon sign place...
Nice.
Plants in the window...I liked it.
Yeah, the weirdest thing I've seen in a while. :)
I did not place any $$$...but I wonder if I should post such a sign on my mailbox? Maybe it works. ;)
This was a pretty strong mural...one of the best I've seen in the city.
Made my way over to Pier 25 area on the Hudson. There is a nice pier/park area here.
Golf? Hmmm....
He was super friendly. Managed the mini-golf area. Told me to look around...
So this is in the city. Darn, I wish I had known this in the summer. HOWEVER, it was open today...I probably should have just played a round. Why do I not just do stuff like that? Maybe it feels weird to do that alone.
Beach volleyball in NYC is also an option for all of us! Who knew? I love that the Freedom Tower is in the background.
Huge grassy area on the pier.
Statue of Liberty in the distance.
Getting back into TriBeCa.
Love this spot!
Seemed to be a teaching school for hair. Some guys walked by with me and I heard one guy say "I would love to get a haircut for $6.99"...
DO IT if you want to! (it will grow back)
We're all rooting for the IOTs!
www.biblescam.com - I did NOT look up this website at all. Just sharing what the sticker said. I like to share what I see. No judgement.
Oooh...now that's a special Interesting Things you are carrying! Welcome.
For a friend of mine.
I love this...it's what under a street in New York City! In Connecticut, I think we have pavement and dirt underneath...and that's probably true some of the time. But this is likely also what's under the road I'm driving when I'm in New Haven, Hartford, etc.
OMG, this too. Messy.
Hi, Jenga building. Yes yes, we see you. Please don't let my readers ignore the tiny 'white house' building on the left. So amazing and cute!
OK, you are going to make Interesting Things because I watched you stop, out of breath and exhausted. Great effort. That is three very large mirrors he's carrying. And they're old so you know the wood is heavy. Welcome to Interesting Things...
This was a strange moment in 52MM. What it felt like is this adult talking to two teenagers, maybe trying to sell them something illicit. It really did. And I have a pretty good sense of what's what.
Wasn't my place to intervene. Not my favorite moment on this journey. Of course, I have no idea if that's what I witnessed. Just felt that way.
I rang the bell. I waited and rang it again. She wasn't there. It's been a goal of mine to have one psychic reading on this journey. This wasn't the one. I'm good with that! You can't speed up the process on stuff like this. :)
My friend, Gwen, lives in my neighborhood and goes to my gym. Long story short, her daughter lives in the city. So I got in contact and was able to take some pictures from her daughter's roof at her apartment. It overlooked The Intrepid, around 45th street & 11th Ave. Thank you, Allie. <3
A few favorite rooftop pics...
The Intrepid on the right...
Making my way back to Grand Central.
Christmas wreaths are up!
And that's a wrap on November, 2016!
It's December 1st, 2016, as I finish this blog post. Such a fun and interesting year. I've experienced so much. Felt so much. Figured out so much. All good. People ask me "what are you going to do next"?
I have no idea. But it may be starting to unfold. I also have to unravel this year in my own way. 52 Magic Mondays will be a book of some kind. Perhaps intertwined with the next chapter...Chicago? Maybe. :)
Until the next Magic Monday!
