The baby hulk is how I felt about the weather today. Dreary and rainy. But the journey must go on.
I had a guest with me today! My friend Rachel was in town from Phoenix (actually heading back via JFK today) so we met up in Grand Central and spent a few hours together. Rachel and I did an internet radio show together for 18 months called Soulfullpreneur. We may do a few more episodes but we both needed a break from the pressure of doing a show weekly.
Chinatown mural.
Longest beans I've ever seen.
We walked through a Chinese market in Chinatown. First time seeing Dragonfruit.
I never thought about little kids learning to use chopsticks. Adorable.
Durian fruit. I had to Google it because the staff could not tell us how to say what it was in English.
Twining.
Welcome to Dreary Italy.
Doggie of the day. Not friendly (owner was) but I had to get a pic of his booties.
Destination of the day! Mahayana Buddhist Temple. Photo is not so great, raining and cars everywhere.
Favorite image of the day.
When we left the temple it was POURING. Lucky us.
Beautiful building as we headed up Canal in search of the Q subway train.
Success! We found the Q train and headed to Penn Station so that Rachel could make her way to JFK.
First time to Penn Station. It's no Grand Central. There's a KMart there which kind of says it all. ;)
The guy in the blue t-shirt had to explain to us how the trains work. It felt like you had to hit the lottery to find out what track your train is on. You stand in front of this sign and eventually they will post what track number to go to - then everyone stampedes to the train. Grand Central is much more civilized and posts the track number at least 30 minutes before, and kindly flashes the number if the track number changes.
Back I went out into the rain to finish my day after saying goodbye to Rachel. Yeah, Phoenix sounds good right about now.
Many people wanted to join my Interesting things... page today.
I would love to say this is some kind of artistic statement. Instead, it's an accidental pic with my purple scarf covering the lens because of the rain. Kinda cool though!
I briefly met the Pope.
I love this because the person with the umbrella kinda looks like the headless statue.
I feel for you, Mr. Umbrella. It was quite windy today, mine flipped inside out a few times.
Rough.
Selfie reflection of the day!
Until the next Magic Monday!
xo,
